    Endeavor Energy Resources, LP is a privately held company with over 300,000 net acres in the Midland Basin, North America’s most active basin.  Endeavor’s highly strategic and desired asset base is unable to be replicated in today’s times and is the cornerstone for the company’s rapid growth.  Endeavor has been a successful vertical driller in the Permian Basin, and surrounding basins, over the last 40 years but recently refocused its strategy on a horizontal drilling program.  The company is rapidly growing and evolving as it works towards its mission of becoming a top tier Midland Basin horizontal operator.  To date, Endeavor has drilled approximately 120 horizontal wells and currently has 10 rigs dedicated to the horizontal program. The work environment is informal, innovative and fast paced.


    This position is responsible for providing GIS support to production team which may include Land, Drilling, Geology, Marketing, and Regulatory members. This individual will be responsible for creating, organizing, modifying, and analyzing geospatial data and mapping of oil and gas leases/units using metes and bounds and/or PLSS surveys. This GIS Analyst will be performing data collection, conversion, manipulation, analysis and ad hoc queries on multiple large data sets utilizing MS Access, MS Excel, and other tools. This position is primarily a personal contribution role and requires someone with good technical skills and considered an intermediate/expert in the Geographic Information Systems field. This role will require the ability to prioritize requests from a mixed experienced GIS client base.

    • Create map layouts and views, perform spatial analysis, and generate map/reports for end users.
    • Manipulate GIS data to create information products to meet discipline specific needs.
    • Coordinate the acquisition of new spatial data and the integration of these data into the organization’s GIS.
    • Perform GIS data quality control, including reviewing data for completeness and accuracy.
    • Generation of maps and reports that draw data from proprietary and non-proprietary sources.
    • Research and interpret source documents such as oil and gas leases, deed records, and survey plats
    • Geo-referenced, digitized, and inventoried various pipeline and leasehold maps
    • Provide geospatial data support throughout the company by working to increase GIS competency among both non-GIS users and GIS users across multiple disciplines: Land, Geology, Regulatory, Operations, etc.
    • Perform other GIS and map making /data-related tasks under the direction of GIS Manager


    • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Computer Science, Planning, other science, or a combination of education and relevant work experience required
    • 5 years of GIS experience in an E&P company preferred
    • Good in Geodesy, especially as applied to Extract/Transform/Load processes
    • Able to digitize static maps into useful map overlays to be used within ArcMap.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, to manipulate data for joins and building definition queries
    • Proficient in use of ArcGIS for Desktop (ArcMap v10.1+). ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS experience would be preferred and with familiarity with IHS, DrillingInfo, State regulatory sites and other 3rd party data suppliers
    • Basic knowledge of Oil and Gas lease and tract data a plus. Experience with land mapping systems is highly desirable.
    • Basic scripting using Python/Visual Basic (not required) but a plus
