    Responsibilities for a Powder Coater Helper included assisting in the preparation of components and large weldments to be powder coated.  Preparation includes removing burrs, slag, spatter, rust, and scale. Must also hang parts from racks, blasts, washes, dries parts, and apply an even coating of powder that meets Company standards. May also be asked to perform other miscellaneous tasks as required.

    • Able to follow directions to determine what color parts get painted.
    • Examine and feel surface for defects.
    • Determine what process should be used when cleaning and hanging parts.
    • Use a variety of hand tools and machines.
    • Use a grinder over the surface to remove scratches, excess weld material and burrs.
    • Perform light maintenance on machinery to keep it in good working order
    • Remove worn abrasive discs, wheels and belts and sharpen chisels and scrapers.
    • Shovel or pour abrasives such as sand, grit, or shot of specified grade into machine hopper.
    • Operate sandblasting machine to clean surfaces prior to painting or coating.
    • Must be able to move parts in and out of area.
    • Other projects and duties as assigned


    • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
    • Ability to work in enclosed spaces and various conditions including exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
    • Physical demand requirements require the ability to sit/stand for long periods of time and often lift loads in excess of 40lbs.
    • Be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
    • Be able to work 40 hours per week and have the flexibility to work additional hours beyond the regularly scheduled work hours as needed.
    • Regular and reliable attendance is required
