    McMillan Welding is included in the Energy Services family of companies and provides a wide range of welded and fabricated products to the Oil and Gas industry.     A field welder, under the direction of a supervisor, should be able to weld metal components with welding equipment to fit and join, and fabricate various parts and products per specifications and in accordance with the production schedule.

    • Perform welding duties using wire welding, Flux Core, or stick welding.
    • Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified by procedures, layouts, blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions.
    • Welds need to range from simple tacks to complex welds performed in various positions.
    • Setup and maintain welding equipment by performing preventative maintenance.
    • Operate and /or use job related equipment and tools such as hoists, slings, grinders, cutting torch, hand tools, drills, punches and tape measure.
    • Reassemble parts using cutting torch and hand tools when necessary.
    • Follow oral and written instructions.
    • Follow company policy and safety guidelines of McMillan Welding & Fabrication.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor as needed.
    • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
    • Maintain assigned equipment including but not limited to company vehicle.
    • Must be able to perform job duties at any hour of the day or night as required.
    • Employee must take call when assigned by a supervisor.


    • Have good knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal and welding techniques.
    • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
    • Ability to read and interpret blue prints
    • Ability to master welding visual tests on varies positions with different processes to include, (2F) flat T-fillet weld with jet rod, (2G) horizontal mig weld, (3G) vertical downhill with 5P rod. Must have full penetrations on welds as needed. Welds must hold pressure.
    • Understand PPE and be able to use it properly and when necessary.
    • Exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
    • Physical demand requirements require the ability to sit/stand for long periods of time and often lift loads in excess of 40lbs.
    • Be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
    • Be able to work 40 hours per week and have the flexibility to work additional hours beyond the regularly scheduled work hours as needed.
    • Regular and reliable attendance is a must.
    • Minimum of six months in current position before position advancement will be considered.  Position advancement will only be permitted with the permission of a supervisor.
