  • Responsibilities

    This position is responsible for maintaining subsidiary company accounts and records based on generally accepted accounting principles. Successful candidates will be able to work with marketing and other operational personnel to provide timely, useful information for decision making and accurate accounting records.  Effective collaborative skills with marketers and counterparties are important.  Familiarity with accounting principles and practices, controls, accounting software and systems will also be important.  Be willing to work in a challenging real time environment.

    • Collaborate with marketing and operations team for upcoming transactions including but not limited to transportation agreements, gathering agreements, product sales, and credit reviews
    • Develop, analyze, apply and improve sound practices, policies, procedures, controls
    • Guide all operations of this new accounting function, including revenue, expense, assets and liabilities accounting
    • Oversee monthly/quarterly/annual close of general ledger in accordance with GAAP
    • Establish reporting to integrate volumes, revenues, margins
    • Identify, evaluate and implement new useful software
    • Recognize and react to new requirements as the company expands

    Qualifications

    • BS in Accounting or Finance
    • Knowledge of crude oil markets and financial markets is a plus
    • Downstream crude oil or refined products industry accounting experience strongly preferred
    • Excellent Microsoft Office suite capabilities required
