  • Responsibilities

    The Pipeline Operator is responsible for maintaining all Environmental Disposal System’s pipelines and infrastructure, for managing chemical treatment of pipelines and facilities, for servicing and maintaining water transfer pumps and seals, and for collecting and reporting data on existing infrastructure systems.  They will also commonly work with other groups within the Environmental Disposal Systems department to assist with different measurement systems, pump facilities, and pipeline construction.  This position reports directly to the EDS Operations Foreman


    • Maintain and operate Environmental Disposal System’s pipelines by:
      • Pigging water lines and reporting and tracking material condition of existing pipelines
      • Observe and monitor chemical treatment of pipelines and make recommendations regarding treatment and corrosion
      • Replace or rebuild seals and impellers on various types of pumps
      • Rebuild gas operated valves and mechanical dumps on equipment
      • Take samples of water and occasionally run various types of analysis on different product samples.
    • Assist other EDS technical groups by:

      • Assisting measurement by collecting meters and assisting with calibration and documentation

      • Assisting water measurement by recording water well meters and pit levels and supervising water transfer crews

      • Assist construction projects by assisting with staking or line locate and crew supervision.

    • Collaborate with peers to identify and remedy problems and successfully accomplish various projects.  Perform other duties as required or assigned.



    • High School diploma or equivalent required
    • College experience or previous work in a technical field may be counted towards some of the experience required
    • Minimum of 1 years of oilfield experience, prior pipeline experience a plus
    • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Laredo systems, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills
