An HSE Specialist is responsible for accomplishing company objectives by supporting the development, implementation and continual improvement efforts related to HS&E.  This position requires knowledge of OSHA regulations, API standards, NFPA and experience applying those standards to ensure the safety of the Company’s employees.
Essential Functions:

  • Conduct field reviews to support safety performance as an essential part of day-to-day operations
  • Support worksite compliance with OSHA, API, NFPA, DOT, FMCSA and company safety standards
  • Partner with management to analyze incidents, assist investigations, identify causes and actions for prevention activities
  • Facilitate in the creation and support of HSE processes aimed at hazard assessment and incident prevention
  • Provide ongoing employee education including facilitation with monthly safety meetings and training
  • Communicate and coach regularly with employees and management regarding a variety of safety topics and issues
  • Emergency response support


  • Five to ten years of practical work experience in a similar safety role
  • Strong communication (both written and verbal) skills and ability to work with all facets of an organization including ability to make effective presentations in front of large groups
  • Deep technical safety knowledge and experience with OSHA regulations
  • Ability to work as a team and promote teamwork
  • Working knowledge of risk and environmental processes
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with contractor safety management such as PEC and ISN
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Ability to walk and stand for long lengths of time regardless of weather or conditions
  • Ability to work in an environment that may be noisy and dusty
  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Bilingual applicant is a plus
