An Accounts Payable Manager will supervise accounts payable, coding and sales tax departments and oversee day-to-day duties of their team members.  The person in this role will require a strong understanding of complex oil and gas accounts payable coding.  Furthermore, this person is expected to demonstrate daily the appropriate analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills to fulfill the responsibilities outlined below and generate quality results.  Strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate to individuals at all levels of the organization are essential along with the ability to work as part of a team.
Major Functions and Scope:

  • Supervise Accounts Payable with a team of approximately thirty-five (35) employees
  • Ensure accounting close schedules are met and account reconciliations are completed and reviewed timely
  • Ensure internal controls are followed and assist with internal and external audits
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel
  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Conduct business following the highest ethical standards
  • Meet deadlines and be able to work in a dynamic environment
  • Train new team members
  • Supervise 1099 reporting
  • Communicate daily with vendors, management and other departments
  • Embrace change and contribute to process improvement


  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting preferred
  • 5+ years of accounts payable leadership experience working in the oil and gas industry
  • OpenInvoice and Enertia experience preferred
  • Familiarity with MS Office programs (excel, word, outlook, etc.) required
  • Good understanding of oil & gas operations, including distinction among drilling, completions, operating and G&A charges
  • Strong communication skills
