Responsibilities

  • Partner with management to communicate HR policies, procedures, programs, laws and best practices.
  • Provide support to the HR Department in day-to-day management of operations, onboarding, policy administration, regulatory and employment law compliance, employee relations, performance management, benefit administration and compensation. 
  • Protect the interests of employees and the company in accordance with HR policies and governmental laws and regulations.
  • Assist with all internal and external HR-related matters.
  • Handle employee relations counseling, disciplinary actions, separations and exit interviews.
  • Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer -employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
  • Advises managers and supervisors about the steps in the progressive discipline system of the company. Counsels managers on employment issues.
  • Maintain employee-related databases; prepare and analyze reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and company; and prepare periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested.
  • Process new hires, transfers, promotions, separations and compensation transactions in employee-related databases. Ensure all employee records electronic or paper are up to date and confidential, and compliance with labor regulations.
  • Maintains record and compliance of corporate housing for employees.
  • Recommends, develops and maintains human resources databases, computer software systems and manual filing systems.
  • Assists with the monitoring of the company’s wage and salary structure and the variable pay systems.
  • Provides competitive market research and prepares pay studies to help establish pay practices that help to recruit and retain staff.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions.
  • Assist with Unemployment Claims and Worker’s Compensation Claims.
  • Consults with and advises employees on eligibility for insurance and other benefits.
  • Assists to establish departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the company and department’s strategic goals. Participates in staff meetings and attends recommended trainings.
  • Assists with the development of Human Resources policies and provides advice, assistance and follow-up on office policies, procedures and documentation.
  • Follows policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of human resources administration including recruitment, classification, compensation, employment laws and practices, and benefits
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
  • Display willingness to make decisions. Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions; Includes appropriate people in decision-making process
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional situations. Reacts well under pressure treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
  • Bachelor’s degree and three to five years Human Resources experience
  • Or seven years of experience in the Human Resource Field, or any similar combination of education and experience. 
  • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organizational development, employee relations and safety training, preferred
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred, not required
  • PHR certification preferred, not required
